About this place
The designer of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is Yang Zhuocheng, who designed the Grand Hotel. The original site of the memorial hall was the Army Headquarters, which was the largest military district in Taipei City at the time. The blue and white colors used in the memorial hall are the main colors on the national flag. The decoration of the sky dome at the top of the memorial hall is the 12 rays of the blue sky and the white sun. With the evolution of democracy and open-mindedness, the square in front of the memorial hall has become a meeting place for the democratic movement.
