About this place

140 Highland Park covers an area of 5.6 hectares. It is located in Wanmeili, Wenshan District, Taipei City, on the north side of Wanning Street, on the hilly land between Wanning Street and Wanmei Street Section 2. The highest altitude of 138 meters is the Zouzijiao Mountain, which is located in 140 Highland Park next to Wanning Street. Before Wanfang Community existed, the park land was called Baozijiao. The vast hilly land where 45 families live is now located at the foot of Baozaijiao Mountain at an altitude of 138 meters, with a vast view from the top. Wenshan (Muzha) Park No. 80 (an area of about 2.2 hectares) was built in 1993, and Wenshan (Muzha) Park No. 30 (an area of about 3.4 hectares) was built in 1996. The two are nicknamed "140 Highland Park". The park's trailhead is located next to No. 125 and No. 225 Wanning Street. Go up the winding wooden stairs. After climbing the ridge, it turns into a gravel staircase trail. Follow the ridge and enjoy the rich forest. There are viewing platforms and pavilions along the way. The view is excellent. You can overlook the landscape down the mountain, overlooking the 101 Building and the lights of Wanjia, and overlooking the mountains and waters of Wenshan District. It is the best place to watch the stars and the moon. In order to create a sustainable ecological environment, the original landform was maintained as much as possible when the park was opened to avoid destroying the habitats of animals and plants. Only necessary facilities and trails were installed in the park to connect the surrounding green spaces, providing citizens with a natural place for exercise and rest. Local people built a concrete pool at their own expense in Lane 23, Wanning Street. They used the original power system and set up a simple filter tank to filter the pool water. The pool is about 100 centimeters deep. To maintain the safety of tourists and the overall landscape, the original pool walls were removed and replaced with piles of stones to surround the pool. It was completed in March 1996. It has successfully attracted frogs to inhabit it, and the frogs chirp loudly, making it more peaceful. This park also has the only "mountain sign guide map" in Taipei City, where you can learn about the mountains and their names and heights. There are also simple fitness facilities, sports equipment, stretching chairs, etc. While hiking and admiring the scenery, you can also experience the joy of stretching your muscles and bones in the quiet mountains.
