Guanghua Mall opened in 1973 under the Guanghua Bridge between Bade Road and Citizen Avenue in Taipei City. Its original stores were old bookstalls that moved from Guling Street, and unlicensed stalls that moved in from the Bade Road area. Due to the limited number of items sold in the early stage, the mall's business did not improve much at first.
