About this place
Taiwan's Contemporary Culture Laboratory (C-LAB) has been launched in 2018. It was formerly the Industrial Research Institute of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office during the Japanese occupation. In 1949, it was changed to the Air Force Headquarters of the Republic of China. The old office building, war situation building and 15 buildings in the park (former historical and auxiliary facilities) in the base were declared as national historic sites by the Ministry of Culture in 2024. Nowadays, C-LAB is gradually revitalizing the field, opening up the participation and entry of the public, arts and cultural professionals, technology teams, and animation industries. Through cross-field and cross-disciplinary collaboration and co-creation, C-LAB launches a variety of exhibition activities and public promotion plans, and expands the spirit and practice of cultural experimentation through the innovative energy of art and culture.
