About this place

Dajia Wharf is located on the left bank of the Keelung River in Yuanshan. Yuanshan, formerly known as Yuanzi Mountain, is the leading place on the Dalongdong terrain. Because the Keelung River flows through it, it used to be a lake and swamp area where sea water flows in and out. The excavation of the Yuanshan ruins and shell mounds proves the location where the ancestors lived at that time. The Sword Pond area, which is close to the Grand Mountain Hotel, was named after Zheng Chenggong, the country's surname, inserted his sword into the pond to draw water. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese built the Taiwan Shrine and the shrine's outer garden on the site to the west of the Martyrs' Shrine next to the present-day Grand Mountain Hotel. This shows the importance of its geographical location.
