About this place
Guandu, formerly known as Gandoumen, has become a port with dangerous terrain because it is backed by Guanyin Mountain and Datun Mountain and faces the Tamsui River. In the early years, the ancestors moved to northern Taiwan from the Guandu Wharf to cultivate land. Therefore, Guandu was developed very early. Later, due to sedimentation at the mouths of the two rivers (Keelung River and Tamsui River), water transportation gradually declined.
