About this place
This is the center of Taipei's clothing wholesale industry. I believe everyone's first thought is "Fenfenpu". There are hundreds of wholesale stores clustered near Songshan Railway Station. The origin of its name is that during the Qing Dynasty, Wufenpu was the activity area of ββthe Taiwanese aboriginal Pingpu tribe. Later, five families, He, Zhou, Shen, Du, and Li, bought this land from the Pingpu tribe to cultivate it, and named the village Wufenpu. Taiwan's economic development over the past half century, from poverty to working day and night to prosperity, is just like the development history of Fenfenpu. People from the central and southern parts of the country who went north to make a living gathered in Fenfenpu. They simply processed and patched the leftover bits and pieces of unsalable fabrics from exported garments into underwear, children's clothing or rough work clothes for sale at roadside stalls and retail stores, gradually developing the name Wufenpu. Now, hundreds of garment manufacturers gather here, with goods sourced from all over Taiwan, and even imported from as far away as Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore and other regions. Cheap clothing attracts small businesses to wholesale and retail. Due to the wide variety of styles and popular cuts, many young people also come to shop, matching them to their liking to create eye-catching fashion styles. When the desire to shop arises, but the budget is insufficient or you donβt want to bleed a lot of money, the most suitable place is Wufenpu. It is worth mentioning that bargaining is also a common shopping phenomenon here, which is similar to the old people.
